
The Government of Mozambique promotes and guarantees the geological coverage of the country and encourages private initiatives and preferential rights whenever in a specific location, mineral resources of economic interest are discovered.
The Government
grants attractive fiscal regimes and other incentives, with the purpose of
increasing geological coverage of the country priority is given to the following
initiatives:
· Execution of geological mapping, on the scales 1:250.000 covering
square gradients:1436,1536,1536,1736,2132 and 2133 in Niassa, Zambeze,
Manica, Sofala, Inhambane and Gaza provinces.
· Mapping of pegamite orebodies in Nampula and Tete provinces on an
area of 27.750 Km2.
· Mapping of Archaean formation with gold minerlisation in the Rotanda
area of Manica province and proterozic formation of the Lago District in Niassa
province.
· Mapping of other selected areas with mineral potential in 1:50.000
scale.
